Explanation
At Shenzhen, where progressive urbanization progresses, hold a workshop that wraps the city with local people a total of three times. The yarn was made in Dongguan City, China. Two colors of yellow that feels energy and blue that feels fresh. These colors imaged the city of Shenzhen.
The first workshop was held at Gangxia Village. Ganglia Village is the last natural village in Shenzhen Futian, living a large number of youngsters who have just been in Shenzhen. It is one of so-called urban village. Participants were resident artists and companies responsible for renovation at the apartment where newly renovated property built around 30 years ago.
The second workshop was held at the most popular shopping mall in Shenzhen, located in OCT Harbor. Participants were artists, tourists and passing people.
The third workshop was held while moving through the city of Shenzhen with local artists and organizers. Beginning from Shenzhen University, we transferred to the area where cultural facilities such as Shenzhen library and concert hall gather by transferring by bus or train.
It was a wonderful experience to be able to intervene in the city that is being developed with people involved in the development and local generations of the same generation. The colors yellow and blue of yarn is exactly the colors that symbolize them and Shenzhen. In Shenzhen with hot climate it may be less touched with yarns, but I was impressed by all people working for themselves thinking and motivating freely in the first experience.

現在進行形で都市化が進む深圳にて、地元の人と一緒に街を編み包むワークショップを計3回開催。糸は日本のインベージョンワークショップで使用する糸をサンプルで送り、中国東莞市で製造してもらった。色は主催者が決めた色で、エナジーを感じる黄とフレッシュさを感じる青の2色。
ワークショップ1回目は、崗厦村にて。崗厦村は、深圳福田最後の自然村で、高層ビル群に囲まれ、深圳に来たばかりの若者が多数暮らしているいわゆる城中村のひとつである。30年ほど前に建てられた物件を新しくリノベージョンしたアパートにて、住民の主にアーティストと、リノベーションを担当した会社の人たちが参加者。
2回目はOCTハーバーにある、深圳でもっとも賑わうショッピングモールの空間にて。参加者はアーティストのほかに、観光客や通りすがりの人も飛び入りで参加。
3回目は地元のアーティストと主催者とともに、深圳の街を移動しながらのワークショップ。深圳大学から始まり、バスや電車を乗り継いで深圳図書館やコンサートホールなど文化施設が集まるエリアへ。
開発されていく街に、まさにその開発に携わる人たちや地元の同世代の人たちと共に介入できたことはとても素晴らしい経験だった。黄と青という色は、まさに彼らと深圳を象徴する色だ。1年を通して暑い深圳では毛糸に触れること自体が少ないのかもしれないが、すべての人がはじめての経験の中、自由にモチーフを考えたり工夫を凝らして作業している様子が印象的だった。
