The five continents of the knitted globe have eyes, which open and close when people approach and make eye contact.

This is the first knitted piece of work that expresses the desire to connect with the different places on earth and the people who live there. The love for the world is expressed through knitting, which evokes warmth and connection. The eyes, which open and close vividly like human beings through a hybrid of digital and analogue elements, such as motors and other mechanical elements and knitting, remind us of the people who live there. This living, interactive globe invites the viewer to become intimate with the world.

It is knitting as a medium that conveys connection and warmth.

ニットで編まれた地球儀の五大大陸に瞳があり、人が近づくと目を開閉させアイコンタクトを取る。

地球上の様々な場所やそこに住む人とつながりたいという想いを表現した、ニットによる最初のアート作品である。世界への愛は温かみやつながりを感じさせる編み物によって表現されている。モーターなどの機械的な要素と編み物という、デジタルとアナログのハイブリッドにより人間のように生々しく開閉する目は、現地に住む人々を感じさせる。生き物のようでインタラクティブなこの地球儀は、世界と親密になることを鑑賞者に誘いかけている。
